Celebrating ADHD Awareness Month: Advocating, Competing, and Living Without Limits

As ADHD Awareness Month comes to a close, I’ve been reflecting on an incredible few weeks of advocacy, competition, and growth. October was filled with unforgettable moments, from sharing my story with audiences across Indiana to advocating for ADHD and mental health awareness on stage and online. Through every experience, I felt the impact of “Live Without Limits” more than ever.

This month, I had the opportunity to compete in the Miss Central Indiana competition, an event that pushed me to bring my best self to the interview room and on stage. I poured my heart into sharing my journey with ADHD—speaking about the challenges I’ve faced, the lessons I’ve learned, and my passion for empowering others with similar diagnoses. When I stepped into that interview room, I saw it as a chance to break down the stigma around ADHD and share how “Live Without Limits” isn’t just a message—it’s my way of life. And when I took the stage, I felt the incredible support of a community that believes in this mission just as much as I do.

One of the highlights of the night was being awarded a $500 scholarship from Astral Industries. I had written an essay on how this scholarship could further my education in computer science, as I pursue a path in cybersecurity at Vanderbilt. In a field where people with ADHD and other disabilities are often underrepresented, especially in STEM, this scholarship felt like a powerful reminder that our dreams are possible. I’m grateful for the opportunity to show others that their goals in STEM, or any field, are within reach—no matter the obstacles.

This month has reminded me why I started Live Without Limits. Through book readings at schools, discussions online, and even through competition, I want to ensure children with ADHD know they aren’t alone and can accomplish their dreams. It’s been rewarding to see the ways my advocacy resonates with those around me, from the young students who see themselves in my story to the judges who valued the message of perseverance I shared.

I’m beyond grateful for this journey and the incredible support system that surrounds me. ADHD Awareness Month may be ending, but my advocacy for ADHD and mental health awareness continues. Together, we can all continue to Live Without Limits.

Thank you for supporting this mission—let’s keep changing lives, one conversation at a time.
